Smarden Junior Football Club was established in 1995 and is affiliated to Kent County Football Association.  The Club has received the prestigious Football Associated Charter Standard Club Award in recognition of the safe and high quality environment the Club provides to its members.

The Club is run by qualified coaches and a committee.

 

MEMBERSHIP There is an annual registration fee and the money received is used to pay for

Ÿ         Kent County FA fees, league fees and insurance

Ÿ         coaches CRB checks and training courses

Ÿ         first aid

Ÿ         kit, training bibs (we have an extra team this year)

Ÿ         goal posts, corner flags, line marking, footballs, cones, ladders, slalom poles

Ÿ         end of season medals and trophies

All coaches are unpaid and coach for the love of the game.

 

PITCHES Coaching takes place on Cornes Meadow for the U9s, U10s, U11, U12s and U14s; on Smarden Primary School field for the U8s.

 

SQUADS AND TEAMS The Club enters teams for competitive matches in the Weald of Kent Friendly League consisting of U8, U9, U10, U11,  U12 and U14 teams.

 All players will be registered for a squad  (14 players per squad for 7 aside – U8, U9 and U10 and U14.  18 players per squad for 9 aside for U11 and U12).  All teams play in orange and black kit, goalkeepers in green, yellow or grey kit.

 

COACHING ALL players must wear shinpads, football boots or trainers and appropriate clothing.   ALL players must bring a drink.  NO jewellery or wrist bands to be worn during coaching sessions or matches.

 

CAR PARKING If you are staying to watch a coaching session or match PLEASE be respectful to the residents of Smarden.  We have been asked to point this out politely by the Parish Council who own the football pitches and do not charge us!!!!!  Parking may be available in the village hall car park except when there is an event and also on the school playground.  PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE GATES TO THE MINNIS AS THIS IS FOR THE ENTRY OF AN AMBULANCE SHOULD THERE BE AN EMERGENCY

 

COACHING SESSIONS All our coaches are Level 1 trained, have attended first aid courses and are FA CRB checked.  The assistants are also FA CRB checked.

SMOKING In the interests of both health and safety please do not smoke on the School Ground.

 

PARENTS/GUARDIANS  Parents are encouraged to watch the coaching sessions/matches.

 

VOLUNTEERS If you would like to train as a coach or assistant please contact the Club secretary. 

 

If you have the time, please help the coaches at the beginning or end of coaching sessions or matches with the equipment.
